We invite you to join us for this day of remembrance, reflection, and traditional racing, honouring the courage and camaraderie that define ANZAC Day. Lest we forget.
The Sunshine Coast Turf Club invites you to join us this ANZAC Day to honour our ANZAC heroes and their equine partners. The day begins with a commemorative service in the Mounting Yard at 12:55pm. Flanked by jockeys, the service will be led by Chief Executive John Miller, with Geoff Sentance from Young Veterans Sunshine Coast reading the ode and Brendan Hucknell on the bugle, followed by a minute’s silence. This ceremony is a moment to reflect on the courage and sacrifices of our servicemen, servicewomen, and their equine partners.
After the ceremony, experience a day of traditional racing, with the first race set for 1:27pm and the last at 5:33pm. Alongside the races, we offer family-friendly activities, local food and drinks, and a special ANZAC Day lunch for members in the Champagne Garden.
“ANZAC Day holds profound significance,” said John Miller, CEO of Sunshine Coast Turf Club. “We are honoured to host a raceday that brings our community together to pay tribute to our remarkable service members while enjoying a classic day of thoroughbred racing. We also extend our gratitude to Young Veterans Sunshine Coast for their support in coordinating the day’s service.”
Admission to the ANZAC Day Races is free for current and former service members with a valid Military ID or DVA card. Children aged 17 and under also enter free, with entertainment provided by roving performers and lawn games from Karizmatik Entertainment. This makes the event ideal for families, adding to the community-oriented atmosphere.
Tickets are available online and at the gate.
