The Sunshine Coast Turf Club will mark ANZAC Day with a special raceday on Friday 25 April 2025, bringing the community together for an afternoon of reflection, racing, and mateship.

The day begins with a Mounting Yard Ceremony at 1:25pm, flanked by jockeys and led by SCTC CEO John Miller, in collaboration with the Veteran Wellbeing Foundation (Beerwah). The service will include the Ode by Geoff Sentance, representing both the Foundation and Young Veterans Sunshine Coast, and the Last Post performed by Brendan Hucknall. A minute’s silence will follow to honour those who served – both human and equine – and will be concluded with a wreath-laying by SCTC Chairman Peter Boyce.

Poppies will be available on course, with proceeds going to veteran wellbeing initiatives through the Foundation. Following the ceremony, live racing commences at 2:03pm, and a Two-Up Arena opens from 2:45pm, offering a relaxed and social nod to ANZAC tradition.

“ANZAC Day is a time to pause, reflect, and come together,” said SCTC CEO John Miller. “Our raceday respectfully honours that spirit while creating a space for the community to reconnect.”

General Admission tickets are available, with bars and food outlets operating throughout the day.
